The Andrew Norwood House is an elegant urban residence designed in a transitional style which combines Greek revival and italianate features. A remarkably preserved slice of early Victorian architecture and lifestyle – both inside and out; the House is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Inside is a perfectly preserved 1847 mansion with 13 fireplaces, huge mahogany doors and intricate plaster crown molding. Hidden touches abound, like the carved bird pecking a flower among the mantelpiece’s Carrarra marble foliage.
Norwood is a private club that draws its membership from the international creative arts community. We provide our members with a salon of discovery through a variety of talks and events, food and beverage tastings, and stimulating screenings and performances. The house offers a unique, stylish and comfortable environment ideal for meeting, dining and drinking right in the heart of Manhattan.
Norwood has reciprocal membership relationship with several private clubs in central London, Toronto, New Zealand, Dublin, Buenos Aires and Shanghai. In addition, the Club has special relationships in place with the Frieze, The Armory Show, Art Market Hamptons as well as The Soho Grand Hotel and CLAY Health Club + Spa.
